The argument between Cristiano Ronaldo and Erik ten Hag that led to a complete breakdown in their relationship

Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United for the second time under a cloud a few years ago – and fresh details have now emerged which illustrates the breakdown in his relationship with Erik ten Hag.

Ronaldo spent two spells at the Old Trafford club, the first of which lasted between 2003 and 2009 as he became the best player in the world and left in a then world record £80 million transfer to Real Madrid.

His second period at United did not quite go as well as the first, as Ronaldo rejoined the Premier League side from Juventus in 2021.

Following a bombshell interview with Piers Morgan in which Ronaldo criticised several aspects of the club and Ten Hag, the player’s contract was terminated by mutual consent.

Ronaldo subsequently moved to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, where he remains to this day and where he has 68 goals in 75 games.
