Manchester United have been hit with another injury blow following on from the 0-0 draw with Aston Villa on Sunday.
Harry Maguire limped off at half-time in the stalemate, while Noussair Mazraoui was also forced off as Victor Lindelof and Matthijs de Ligt had to enter the fray.
But it’s emerged that United have suffered a third injury blow coming out of the trip to the West Midlands.
TyC Sports, via Fabrizio Romano, have confirmed that Alejandro Garnacho will not play for Argentina in the international break.
The winger was included in Lionel Scaloni’s squad for World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Bolivia this month.
However, he has been suffering from discomfort in his knee, where he had visible strapping at the weekend.
He is set to be removed from their list of players, with United poised to assess Garnacho’s injury and hope that he will be fit and available for when they return to action against Brentford on 19 October.
The trio join the likes of Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Leny Yoro and Tyrell Malacia on the injury list.
Maguire was seen leaving Villa Park in a protective boot and Ten Hag addressed was asked about the injuries to he and Mazraoui afterwards.
“We have to assess this [Mazraoui and Maguire injuries],” Ten Hag told MUTV. “I can’t tell you now what the issue is.
“I know what the issue is but [I cannot say now] how good or bad it is. We have to assess this tomorrow [Monday] and then we will bring you news.”
Garnacho has played 10 times in all competitions this season, scoring three times and registering the same amount of assists.
