Leaked Bruno Fernandes message tells Ruben Amorim all he needs to know about Man United star

Ruben Amorim, the incoming head coach at Manchester United, is set to rely on Bruno Fernandes to help elevate the team’s performances. Amorim will formally take over from interim manager – United great Ruud van Nistelrooy – after concluding his final two matches with Sporting CP.

The 39-year-old has committed to United until June 2027 and faces a significant challenge in reviving the club following Erik ten Hag’s dismissal. Currently, United are languishing in 13th place in the Premier League – having secured only three victories out of their 10 games and netting just nine goals.

Their Europa League campaign has also been lacklustre, with all three matches ending in draws. Injuries have also compounded their problems further.

Fernandes, like many of his colleagues, had a sluggish start to the season, with consecutive red cards against Tottenham and Porto marking a low point. However, his recent performances, including two goals in the 5-2 victory over Leicester and a penalty in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea, indicate potential resurgence in form for the United captain.

Having closely followed Amorim’s progress at his own former club, Fernandes is well-acquainted with the new head coach’s style. His conduct during his time at Sporting – who he left to join United in January 2020 – offers a glimpse into his leadership approach, as per reports from The Mirror.

In a leaked WhatsApp voice note dating back to his time at Sporting, Fernandes, 30, was fiercely critical of his teammates. He expressed frustration, saying: “Bro, I don’t say anything! I honestly, if you want me to tell you, I’d rather not comment on anything.
