Player ready to secure £26m-£38m terms to sign for Manchester United – Report

Manchester United will be hoping to ramp up their efforts to sign transfer targets in the next week which will be the last week of pre-season for English clubs. One player that they have been negotiating with is Adrien Rabiot.

The ex-Juventus midfielder is currently out of contract after failing to renew terms with the Italian club. He now seems set on a move to Man Utd.

We covered a story revealing that the 29-year-old rejected an offer from Liverpool to wait for the Red Devils.

As per Caught Offside, next week will be crucial in the transfer saga between Man Utd and Rabiot. The Frenchman wants a 10/15 million euros salary package annually and a contract valid for three years, sp the entire worth of the deal works out to around £26m-£38m.

Other clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool are still very much in the mix for Rabiot if the Man Utd move doesn’t work out. Regardless, the player would like to know where he is going to play by the end of next week.

The Community Shield final between Man Utd and Man City is scheduled for next Saturday. It’s the curtain-riser for yet another season of club football and Ten Hag would love to sign Rabiot in time for the game.

Although he has his critics, the 29-year-old has a wealth of experience and on a free transfer, this is a no-brainer for Man Utd. Rabiot is good at what he does and he understands the weaknesses in his game well enough to mask them and accentuate his strengths.

Adding someone like Rabiot to the squad would give Erik ten Hag a lot of flexibility. He can play as a part of a double pivot or even as a #10 if required. The Frenchman has even filled in at left-back at times for his country.

Let’s see if Man Utd can wrap up a deal for the 29-year-old by the end of next week. Featuring in the Man City clash might be a stretch but it would be good to have him in our roster by the time the Premier League season starts.
