Avram Glazer’s response to Erik ten Hag sack question after Man Utd visit speaks volumes

Manchester United owner Avram Glazer made a rare appearance at Wembley Stadium for last Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City. But his post-match actions don’t bode well for Erik ten Hag after United were fortunate to escape being on the wrong end of one of English football’s greatest-ever comebacks.

Ten Hag has effectively been on trial since Sir Jim Ratcliffe secured a 27.7 per cent stake in February, inheriting total control over football operations and a significant say in other aspects of the club.

United’s miserable Premier League form, which has coincided with a disastrous Champions League campaign and woeful Carabao Cup defence, has left the Dutchman’s future uncertain.

The Red Devils last lifted the FA Cup in 2016. Louis van Gaal was sacked two days later due to underwhelming performances and results, particularly in the league.
