€25-30m move to Manchester United becoming clearer – Player keen, club keen, Ten Hag may be key

Denzel Dumfries of Inter Milan is rumored to be on Manchester United’s summer transfer list, according to a report from Calciomercato three months ago.

With just over a year remaining on his contract, the Netherlands international is still without a new contract at San Siro.

When talking about the 28-year-old’s future, Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday once again includes Manchester United in the conversation.

Dumfries is one of the players on the list of players that could quit the Serie A team, according to the report.

If the two sides are unable to come to a renewal agreement, Inter intends to sell the right-back to the highest bidder. The Nerazzurri are beginning to think that he might be headed for an exit in the upcoming window due to the complexity of the contract discussions.

If there isn’t a renewal, Gazzetta reports that Manchester United is the only team mentioned in the report, and that authorities from the Italian club will “accelerate his departure” for €25–30 million.

Although the Dutchman has consistently expressed his disinterest in playing for a mid-level Premier League team, it is alleged that he “would like” to join Manchester United. Noteworthy, the Red Devils, who are presently ranked eighth in the standings, will not be participating in the Champions League the following year.

Erik ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford is still up in the air as a result of their disappointing season. Gazzetta explains that Manchester United “could become concrete” alternative for Dumfries if the manager were to continue.
