Erik ten Hag gives one-word response to Man Utd sack fears in message to Sir Jim Ratcliffe

Even after Manchester United lost 4-0 on the road against Crystal Palace, raising concerns over Erik ten Hag’s future, he insisted he’s “absolutely” the appropriate guy to lead the squad ahead.

For Palace, Tyrick Mitchell and Jean-Philippe Mateta both had goals, in addition to two from Michael Olise. With Odsonne Edouard defeating Andre Onana but seeing his attempt bounce against the post, it might have easily been five as well.

Ten Hag’s team had to start Casemiro and Jonny Evans as a makeshift center back combination due to the absence of numerous players due to injuries. Even though the list of absentees was lengthy, Bruno Fernandes, the club captain, was not there, and the performance was heavily criticized.

With three games of the season to go, United sit eighth and face an uphill battle to qualify for Europe through their league placing. Ten Hag, however, insisted he can lead the club back to where they need to be.
