Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is doing his best to turn a negative into a positive.
This week, one Manchester United player received a severe setback when he was excluded from his nation’s Euro 2024 roster.
England manager Gareth Southgate left out Marcus Rashford, stating he just thought other players had played better this season.
We proposed that Rashford might really gain from this. Let him recover, get his bearings, and return stronger; after all, he was only going to warm the bench for England.
Erik ten Hag pleased by Marcus Rashford response
Erik ten Hag was asked about Marcus Rashford during his press conference ahead of the upcoming FA Cup Final.
The manager says Rashford has responded well in training at Carrington, as he also steps up his comeback after injury.
He explained: “He looks good. A career has ups and downs and a down can also give you fuel and that is what I see in training.
“So he will be highly motivated and, as you said, speak with your feet.”
Ten Hag gave his backing to the forward, and says he will respond strongly.
“He is very talented and already has a big career, and I am sure he will get over this and make even more goals.”
Maximum motivation for Rashford
Marcus Rashford has the perfect motivation to deliver a match-winning performance for Manchester United, if selected.
For the academy graduate, taking revenge for last season’s defeat against rival City is a further incentive, as if winning the derby against them wasn’t enough.
And then there’s the issue of pride in oneself. Rashford has had a difficult season, scoring just eight goals after scoring thirty the previous season.
He has been left off of the England team, but he still has the opportunity to show Gareth Southgate and his doubters wrong by going above and beyond at Wembley.
If he is truly motivated by his England snub, then Manchester United’s choice may have been the right one. According to Erik ten Hag’s signals, the forward is prepared to make an argument and has answered appropriately.
