Erik ten Hag’s response to question on Jadon Sancho’s Man Utd future after Borussia Dortmund display

Erik ten Hag has responded to Jadon Sancho’s sensational display for Borussia Dortmund against Paris Saint-Germain.

Sancho, who is currently back on loan from Manchester United to Dortmund, put on an incredible display as BVB defeated PSG 1-0 in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal.

The game’s lone goal was scored by Niclas Fullkrug, but Sancho was unplayable and reminded everyone of his unique skills.

At Signal Iduna Park, he completed 11 dribbles in the game, giving left-back Nuno Mendes the runaround.

Ten Hag addressed the topic of his time at United in his most recent press conference. His appearance has generated a lot of discussion over his time there.

Although the Dutchman banished him from the first-team environment after he refused to apologise for a statement which addressed claims he deemed to be “completely untrue”, he did praise Sancho for his performance.

Ten Hag told media: “Jadon played very good, he showed why Manchester United bought him and he showed he represents a high value for the club. Which is good.”

Asked about the possibility of Sancho returning to Old Trafford once his loan expires, he added: “I’m happy for Jadon, for his performance yesterday and we’ll see what is going to happen in the future.”

The 24-year-old has made 17 appearances in his second spell at Dortmund, rediscovering his confidence and swagger on the pitch.

He was quizzed by CBS Sports on whether he will be remaining with Dortmund next season and stated: “I really don’t know. I’m focused on the present right now.”

Though there is no option to buy in the deal, Dortmund are believed to be keen on securing a permanent deal for Sancho, who United expect to depart.

Recent reports claim the Red Devils are prepared to listen to offers for all but three players in their squad – with only Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund and Kobbie Mainoo safe.

But Ten Hag strongly refuted those suggestions, branding the claims “a joke”.

He fumed: “It is a joke. Every window, it’s said 200 players get an interest from Man Utd. It is untrue. Every summer it is said we sell all the players in our squad, which is untrue.”
