First member of Man Utd’s dressing room speaks publicly about decision to keep Erik ten Hag

The first Manchester United dressing room member has spoken out about the club’s decision to keep Erik ten Hag.

There has been much speculation around Ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford after a topsy-turvy campaign that saw United finish a dismal eighth in the Premier League but claim the FA Cup.

Despite a range of media reports claiming the club had registered an interest in the likes of Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino and Kieran McKenna, it emerged earlier this month that Ten Hag would remain in his role as United boss, with talks over a new contract for the Dutchman ongoing.

And speaking while on international duty at Euro 2024, United and England star Kobbie Mainoo said the club’s decision to stick with the 54-year-old heading into the new season gave him “peace of mind”.
