“Great shout” – Chris Sutton backs Man Utd to hire 53 y/o manager Beckham thinks is “incredible”

Chris Sutton has called Gareth Southgate a “great shout” to succeed Erik ten Hag as Manchester United manager as rumors regarding who would lead the team in the upcoming campaign heat up.

The Red Devils are presently going through one of their worst seasons in English football history, and their agony was made worse on Sunday when Arsenal defeated them 1-0 at Old Trafford to maintain their prospects of winning the league, highlighting the teams’ striking differences.

fresh proprietors With David Beckham calling the current England manager a “incredible job,” INEOS appears committed to transforming the atmosphere and culture at United both on and off the field. The manager is being widely tipped to take the team back to the top.

Southgate Deserves ‘Respect’ for Work at England

Sutton believes his record speaks for itself

Sutton, a former Premier League winner with Blackburn, believes the club would make a wise choice despite his argument with a fan on BBC 5Live’s 606 show regarding his possible arrival.

During a phone conversation with a United fan, Southgate’s name was mentioned. Sutton said, “There you go, Gareth Southgate, great shout.”

But the supporter wasn’t having it and shot back, saying, “I will never watch Manchester United again if United get Gareth Southgate.”

Sutton was displeased with this remark and demanded that the England manager be given credit for his contributions to the national team.

He added:

“That’s ridiculous, have a bit of respect for the job Gareth Southgate’s done for England.

“Hang on a minute, he’s the most successful English manager since Sir Alf Ramsey.”

It is looking more and more likely that the Dutchman won’t be in charge for the opening game of the upcoming season—a season in which the team might not even have any European football to play—given the expected summer shake-up at the club.

Ten Hag’s last opportunities to prove he has what it takes to lead the team for another season are their remaining league games and the FA Cup Final between the Manchester derby; however, if things don’t go his way, he might be the first target for the new owners, who want to try and turn around the team.

Tuchel and Potter Also Linked With Man Utd Job

Ten Hag and Tuchel could swap roles

According to Sky Sports, Erik ten Hag is being connected to a move to the soon-to-be-vacant Bayern Munich, and Thomas Tuchel, the manager there right now, is one of the top contenders for the legendary United position.

Having managed in the Premier League previously at Chelsea, Tuchel might be interested in returning to the league. If a position becomes available, he and Southgate appear to be the most likely candidates to be chosen, while Tuchel may also be given consideration as an English manager.

Graham Potter has been out of work since he left Chelsea but after turning down the Ajax job he may be holding out for the Red Devils with his replacement at Brighton, Roberto De Zerbi, also someone mentioned as a name that appears to be under consideration.
