Harry Maguire injury now means Ten Hag could debut U18 title-winning academy ace vs Crystal Palace

Manchester United’s ridiculous injury-ridden season continues. Harry Maguire is the latest in the medical tent.

It’s another center-back, of course. Maguire will be out of action for Manchester United for the Crystal Palace match as well as maybe the remainder of the campaign.

He was added to the list of injured defenders that now includes Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Tyrell Malacia, Victor Lindelof, and Willy Kambwala, the club announced on Sunday.

The England international’s injury is fully described below.

Harry Maguire injury for Manchester United

On their official website, Manchester United announced that Harry Maguire will be sidelined for approximately three weeks due to a muscular injury.

While Gareth Southgate will be desperate for the 31-year-old to fully recuperate before the Euros, Erik ten Hag and his coaching team will be hopeful he is healthy for the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

Ten Hag will once again need to start a new backline against Crystal Palace in the Premier League due to the most recent injury news involving the Red Devils.

Louis Jackson could be called upon in Manchester United reshuffle

Louis Jackson has been starting on the Manchester United bench in recent games due to a chronic dearth of defenders, but he may soon be able to get on the field.

Jackson gained his first senior call-up when he was added to the substitutes’ bench for the FA Cup semi-final match at Wembley Stadium against Coventry City. Jackson has been a regular starter for the U18s during their championship-winning 2023–24 campaign.

It may now be Ten Hag’s only option to start Jackson Academy graduate #251 at Selhurst Park against the Eagles.

Everything hinges on the health of Jonny Evans, a Manchester United veteran who has been seen training after missing time. Evans is certain to start if he is cleared to play.

Now that one thing is certain, Casemiro will be working at the back once more. Who, though, will be his partner? Supporters of Manchester United will find out tomorrow evening at approximately 7:00 PM.

Although it didn’t seem likely at all, Casemiro and Louis Jackson playing together at center defense this season seems very likely.
