‘He has been everywhere’: Sky pundit wowed by Man United player who made five key passes v Newcastle tonight

Manchester United have moved level on points with Newcastle United after running out 3-2 winners over the Magpies at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo, and Rasmus Hojlund scored goals to help the Red Devils defeat Eddie Howe’s team and snap a three-match losing streak.

Mainoo gave Manchester United the lead in the 31st minute with a slick finish after Kieran Trippier’s ball went in onside.

After just four minutes of play in the second half, Anthony Gordon of Newcastle equalized by a precise cross from Jacob Murphy at the back post.

But thanks to an incredible attempt from Diallo on the outskirts of the box in the 57th minute, the Red Devils seized the lead again.

On minute 84, Hojlund, who had just come off the bench, held Dan Burn at bay and blasted home to give Man United a 3-1 lead.

Erik ten Hag’s team had a nervous end, but they managed to hold on for all three points thanks to a brilliant effort from Lewis Hall in second-half stoppage time.

Man United performed far better, led by captain Bruno Fernandes, who impressed greatly in his comeback to the team.

Alan Smith, a Sky Sports pundit, praised the midfielder during the game because of what he saw in him.

What did Alan Smith say about Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes?

Smith said on Sky Sports (via BBC Sport): “He has been everywhere tonight Bruno Fernandes.

“Great footballing intelligence wherever he is on the pitch.”

As per Sofascore, Fernandes delivered five key passes, three accurate crosses and five accurate long balls.

He also chipped in with two tackles, one interception and one clearance.

‘Made a world of difference on his return to the side,’ wrote the Manchester Evening News. “Offering impetus and creativity that United were devoid of against Arsenal.”

All in all, a great night’s work for the Portugal international in a victory that will boost confidence ahead of this weekend’s league finale and the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
