According to David Ornstein on The Athletic FC podcast, Arsenal is ahead of Manchester United in the hunt to sign Sesko, despite reports that the Blues had already begun negotiations to sign him.
For United supporters, Fabrizio Romano has provided a more upbeat report. According to the journalist, Sesko is currently considering initiatives from Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United, but the “extremely quick” striker hasn’t decided which to choose.
All three clubs are still in the race to sign Sesko, but Leipzig have offered him a new deal as well – one worth big money – to keep hold of him.
Romano said in a video on his YouTube channel: “There is a crucial step to do – it is when Sesko will decide his future. Sesko is taking his time to decide.
“He has a new contract proposal from Leipzig. Leipzig offered him really important money, really important salary, to be the star of the team next season, to change the release clause in his contract. So, a big proposal from Leipzig.
“Now, Sesko has to decide whether he wants to stay at Leipizg and extend his contract or leave and probably go to the Premier League. So, first step has to be this one. Then, which clubs? They all remian in the race, nothing has been decided yet, I can guarantee about that.
“Sesko is still taking his time to decide between Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal. These three clubs are in the race, everything is still open, Sesko has not accepted anything yet. He has all the projects in front of him, so it’s up to Benjamin Sesko basically to decide what he wants to do.”
Manchester United could rectify 2020 transfer blunder by signing Sesko
Over the years, Manchester United has, like every other club, made a few awful transfer choices.
The Red Devils’ refusal to sign Erling Haaland in 2020, despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s recommendation, is likely the biggest one over the past few seasons.

Manchester United may finally atone for their mistake in passing over Haaland by signing Sesko, albeit they must be regretting their decision.
