Araujo has been an important player for Barcelona for some time now, and he’d clearly be a fine addition to Man Utd and other top sides, with the Red Devils certainly in need of a new signing or two in central defence.

Romano has previously responded to Araujo to United stories and acknowledged the links coming from the fact that MUFC are looking at centre-backs, though it seems he currently has no significant update on the player’s future

Discussing Araujo’s situation, Romano said: “There’s no updates or developments on Ronald Araujo’s future yet. Barcelona are fully focused on the pitch now, but then they will discuss many contracts including Araujo, Pedri, Cubarsi and more.

“Many clubs appreciate Araujo but Barca will offer him a new deal, that’s been the expectation at the club for a long time.”

United surely need to think about replacing the likes of Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire this summer, as both players look past their best and have been in and out of Erik ten Hag’s starting line up for much of the season.
