INEOS could axe Wan-Bissaka by signing “monster” ace who dreams of playing for Man Utd – opinion

This summer will see a lot of change for the better at United. Even if the last ten years have been far worse than the previous reign of reward, which Sir Alex Ferguson masterminded, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS still have the opportunity to make amends.

The summer market is sure to be interesting, but it’s imperative that some of Old Trafford’s failing players go, following the likes of Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane, whose contracts are about to expire.

Even though Casemiro and Antony are two of the team’s most heavily criticized underachievers, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is undoubtedly a player who has fallen short of his one-time pledge and will need to be sold following the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s Man Utd future

Because of Wan-Bissaka’s season-long performances, some fans may be hoping that he is not included in the starting lineup for this weekend’s FA Cup final, but given the dearth of viable options, he will almost certainly make at least one more start for the Red Devils.

Due to his one-year contract expiration, Dumfries might be the ideal counterbalance for Diogo Dalot, who is currently thought of as his team’s first-choice right-back when everyone is healthy.

This might be the ideal move for Ratcliffe to make, since this player longs for a spot at the club, especially since he is rumored to dream of moving to the Theatre of Dreams this summer.

Why Man Utd are interested in Denzel Dumfries

At the beginning of the upcoming season, Dalot should be able to regularly ply his trade in his favored right-sided spot, with Luke Shaw hopefully healthy and productive again. Statman Dave has said that Ten Hag’s “best player” has been the Portuguese, thus he can keep his head held high despite United’s difficulties.

And while Dalot will undoubtedly try to hold down the right-back position, Wan-Bissaka’s impending sale creates the ideal window of opportunity for Dumfries, who has firmly sealed the Scudetto with Inter Milan, to add depth and dimension.

One of the fiercest attacking wide defenders in the game, the Dutchman has even been dubbed a “monster” by journalist Alan Rzepa.

According to FBref, the 28-year-old is in the top 3% of positional peers for goals, the top 11% for assists, the top 2% for touches in the offensive penalty area, and the top 6% for aerial duels won per 90 minutes in Europe’s top five leagues over the previous year.

When he gets into his stride, he’s explosive and terrifying, galloping down the flank with the strength and grace of a thoroughbred. Dumfries possesses the ideal skill set to succeed in the Premier League: a natural knack for goals and assists combined with excellent physicality and technical proficiency.

Wan-Bissaka is out of contract at the end of next season and it’s highly unlikely he will pen new terms. Now is Ratcliffe’s chance to initiate the new era with a purposeful signing.
