’Interesting’: Les Ferdinand noticed what Man United players did when ten Hag tried to shake their hands

Manchester United breathed some much-needed positive vibes into the club on Wednesday night.

Considering how Erik ten Hag and his teammates’ season has gone overall, it’s definitely too little, too late.

However, Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Newcastle gives the players confidence ahead of the FA Cup final and maintains the team’s prospects of finishing in Europe.

Young Manchester United players like Rasmus Hojlund, Amad Diallo, and Kobbie Mainoo are all succeeding and finding the scoresheet.

Given that this was the team’s last home game of the season, the home team deserved the three points despite a late goal from Newcastle.

In order to express gratitude to everyone inside Old Trafford for their support during the season, the players and their manager just went around the field alone. Normally, players would take a lap of honor with their families.

Despite not having performed this season, Ten Hag made the decision to take the podium and thank the audience for their support.

Les Ferdinand, who was observing, told Premier League Productions on May 15, 24 at 10:00 p.m., that he saw indications of a “rift” between the manager and some of his players.

Ten Hag “tried to shake hands” with a few players, but “they didn’t really want to acknowledge him,” according to the former striker.

Erik ten Hag’s speech after Manchester United’s win over Newcastle

“It’s interesting he has gone around every player and shook their hands, or tried to shake their hands,” said Ferdinand.

“It was interesting to see the reaction from some of the players. They didn’t really want to acknowledge him. That always tells you there is a rift.

“I know if you aren’t in the team or you’re not playing, then you’re not happy. But there are some tell-tale signs there that not all is well in the camp at Manchester United.”

Manchester United FA Cup final

In order to qualify for Europe or just to improve on Newcastle’s performance, the club needs to win three points in their final Premier League match of the season, which is away to Brighton.

More than anything, though, the team needs to feel more confident before facing Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

On the last day, Pep Guardiola’s team will most likely win the Premier League.

With their tails up and the conviction that they can defeat their neighbors in the FA Cup final once more, they will go to Wembley.
