‘Look at him jog’ – Gary Neville hammers Manchester United player over Arsenal goal

Legendary Manchester United player Gary Neville has pointed the finger at Casemiro for Arsenal’s Sunday lunchtime opening at Old Trafford.

Leandro Trossard headed home Kai Havertz’s cross from close range to give the Gunners the lead under ordinary conditions. Replays showed that Neville was fast to identify Casemiro’s error in the goal and that the makeshift United backline was too sluggish to recognize the threat.

Neville stated during the co-commentary on Sky Sports: “Casemiro has received some criticism in the past few weeks, and he will likely receive some more.” Excellent work by Arsenal.

“Those Arsenal fans in that far corner will have recognised it’s been a difficult first 20 minutes. But, he goes to split wide to get on the ball, Casemiro.

“As soon as Onana goes that way, Casemiro has to get up. Look at him jog.

“Then as you see the ball getting played that down that far side, he has to get out quicker than that to play him offside. Once he doesn’t, he’s in trouble.”

Thus, Ten Hag has selected Jonny Evans and Casemiro as the centre-back partnership. Scott McTominay also has some experience in defence but has been chosen to play in midfield.
