Man Utd Exclusive: ‘Huge’ Rashford update

Football Insider has been informed by insiders that Marcus Rashford’s “huge” wages may cause problems for Manchester United when they try to transfer him this summer.

Senior writer Pete O’Rourke stated on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast that Man United executives are open to considering bids for Rashford and a number of other first-team players when the transfer window reopens.

The England international has faced criticism for his performances from a variety of sources throughout his challenging season at Old Trafford.

O’Rourke acknowledged that, given his stellar performances in the previous season, there would have been “loads of takers” for the 26-year-old last summer.

But the forward’s stock has fallen so much over the past nine months that it’s unlikely any top clubs will be willing to match the Red Devils’ valuation of him, with his contract set to run until 2028.

Man United willing to listen to offers for Marcus Rashford

Rashford was only given a new contract by Man United in the summer, and rumors have it that he is making up to £325,000 a week.

In an effort to reorganize the team at Old Trafford under the new management, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is rumored to be amenable to selling the forward.

It follows that the Englishman, who made 40 appearances this season and scored 30 goals last year, has only managed to score eight goals.

O’Rourke pointed out that since being seen in a Belfast nightclub in January, Rashford has also struggled off the field this season.

It appears an exit could now be on the cards this summer, but the big question will be whether any interested parties are willing to match his wages and present the club with a reasonable offer.
