Man Utd forward Mason Greenwood to reject all-time great manager after saying yes to alternative move

Mason Greenwood does not look favourably upon the idea of working for Jose Mourinho after Fenerbahce entered the race for his signature, with reports claiming the Manchester United forward has greenlit an alternative move.

Man Utd will consider bids for Greenwood this summer in the hopes that a clean break will end the player’s tumultuous time at Old Trafford permanently.

Greenwood is a homegrown player, thus United will profit greatly from his transfer. As a matter of fact, the money received from the sales of academy graduates is recorded as pure profit.

Greenwood spent the previous season on loan at Getafe, rebuilding his career in Spain. The Madrid-based team is still hoping to sign the 22-year-old, but they would only be able to approve a loan extension rather than a long-term agreement.

This has made room for more prominent suitors to move in. The Sun claims that the massive Turkish team Fenerbhace, who recently named Jose Mourinho manager, are lurking.

It is said that Mourinho is a huge fan of Greenwood, having first noticed his brilliance when the young player was just 15 years old, during Mourinho’s time as Manchester United manager.

As Mourinho races for the Turkish Super Lig at Fenerbahce, he hopes to add a fifth country’s top flight championship to his resume. Portugal, England, Spain, and Italy are among the league titles that Mourinho has already won.

Fenerbahce, who finished runners-up to Galatasaray with 102 points last season after scoring an unbelievable 99 points, would be making a significant statement if they signed Greenwood.

In addition, the Sun quotes an individual with knowledge of the matter to imply that Greenwood might be persuaded to collaborate with a legendary coach such as Mourinho.

“Fenerbahce are interested in Mason,” the source stated. “They know he is a quality player and believe that having Mourinho as manager could be an attractive proposition for him.”

However, the Sun report the opposite, claiming that for whatever reason Greenwood ‘is not keen on working with Jose Mourinho.’

Fenerbahce move dead; Juventus get Greenwood green light

Moving to Fenerbahce is out of the question because of that and the fact that Fenerbahce won’t be able to pay Man Utd what they want for Greenwood.

According to earlier rumours, United hopes to pay up to £34 million for the left-footed player. Rather, a transfer to the massive Italian team Juventus may be imminent as Greenwood is alleged to have accepted a transfer offer.

After last season’s campaign was hindered by a lack of cutting edge up front, Juventus is searching for explosive options in the final third.

They often keep an eye on Greenwood, but United’s asking price of at least £34 million may cause problems.

In fact, Juventus might try to use winger Samuel Iling-Junior as a makeweight in order to reduce the price of the transaction.

Juventus would find it difficult to cover the entire cost if United objects to that idea. As far as TEAMtalk is aware, Man Utd will not consider lower offers for Greenwood.

According to what we’ve been told, Ratcliffe may opt to add Greenwood back into the Manchester United team if he is unable to find a suitable buyer.

In reality, after his loan at Getafe officially ends on June 30th, the club will be required by contract to permit him to rejoin to training at Carrington.
