Man Utd ‘have moved in time’ to finally sign £73million forward – Report

Joshua Zirkzee has been linked to Manchester United for months, and according to recent rumours, the team is making a bid to sign him this summer.

The striker, who has a 40 million euro option that is only good for his old club Bayern, is reportedly very interested in joining the Old Trafford team, according to a March Corriere dello Sport article.

Since Man Utd paid a comparable sum to acquire Hojlund last year, Bologna will demand a fee of £73 million from Man Utd for Zirkzee, according to a report published by La Gazzetta Dello Sport last month.

The Milan-based outlet published some interesting and contradictory updates yesterday.

According to GdS, the 23-year-old striker has a lucrative 40 million euro termination clause that is applicable to all teams.

Nevertheless, the departure clause will only be activated from July 1st to July 15th.

Bologna wants to hang onto him, but Milan and Juventus want to sign him in Italy. The Premier League, where United and Arsenal “boast richer portfolios,” is also a serious danger.

According to Gazzetta, Man Utd “have moved in time” and possess the financial means to acquire Zirkzee during the summer transfer window.

After 60 years, the Dutch international helped Bologna qualify for the Champions League by playing in 34 Serie A games, contributing five assists and 11 goals.

The youthful forward was included in the Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman’s provisional squad for the Euros, but yesterday saw the release of the final roster, and he has been dropped.

Have your say – should Man Utd sign Zirkzee to replace Martial at Old Trafford?
