Man Utd tipped to receive absurd Mason Greenwood offer as two Euro giants battle for forward signing

According to a source, Juventus is preparing to make a ridiculous proposal for Mason Greenwood from Manchester United in order to compete with another European powerhouse for the attacker.

Greenwood has been on loan at Getafe for the entire season. The winger, who can also play centre forward, has excelled in Spain, making 32 appearances and scoring 10 goals with six assists.

Recently, Greenwood scored a brace and assisted teammate Jaime Mata for his team’s third goal to lead Getafe to a 3-1 La Liga victory over Almeria.

The 22-year-old will have a crucial summer as Manchester United must make a decision over his future.

Since his contract expires in June 2025, it is very possible that Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a part-owner of Manchester United, will sell him this summer. However, according to recent sources, Greenwood might receive an extension of his contract at Old Trafford.

Greenwood was once connected to a fantastic transfer to either Real Madrid or Barcelona. Atletico Madrid and Juventus, nevertheless, are currently leading the competition for his services.

CaughtOffside claims that Juve and Atleti will put out challenges to each other in an attempt to sign the Englishman to a summer contract.

Greenwood has had a great year in Spain, so Atleti will feel in the driver’s seat, even though Juventus are confident in their own bargaining strategies.

Mason Greenwood: Man Utd to be offered lowly sums

Although Man Utd has placed a £30–40 million price tag on Greenwood, they won’t get an offer anywhere close to that amount during the initial round of negotiations.

According to the source, Juventus is set to undercut Manchester United with a ridiculous opening bid of just €15–17 million (£13–14.5 million), which is less than half of what the Red Devils genuinely desire.

Atleti’s potential bid amount is not discussed in detail, although it is known that Diego Simeone’s team will not offer more than €30 million (£25.6 million).

Given Greenwood’s current form and enormous potential, Man Utd will probably reject these bids. They will make it clear to Juve and Atleti that they need to make the payment or else Greenwood might leave.

The transfer of the one-cap England international will be recorded as pure profit on the club’s books because he is a Man Utd academy graduate.

Man Utd will be able to finance some of their top summer targets thanks to this. The Theatre of Dreams may welcome a new winger soon, as Man Utd is reportedly leading Chelsea in the chase for Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise.

In an effort to bolster Man Utd’s center-back depth, Ratcliffe is also thinking about moves for Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite, who could fetch up to £70 million, and £40 million-rated Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo.
