Man Utd transfers: Ratcliffe ready to strike gold with classy midfielder signing on a free

This summer, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is anticipated to be quite active as he attempts to improve the failing Manchester United team, and a pivotal midfield target may be available.

United is still basking in the euphoria of a very successful season finale after defeating fierce rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup on Saturday at Wembley to secure a spot in the Europa League for the following season.

But with Mauricio Pochettino waiting in the wings after leaving Chelsea, Erik ten Hag’s future as the Old Trafford manager remains the focus of much debate.

Ratcliffe is still preparing new recruits to his team even if it is unclear who will be leading the Red Devils in August; midfield is one position in particular that requires an improvement or two.

Additionally, ahead of the summer transfer season, Adrien Rabiot is still a potential target for United, per the Italian news source Tutto Juve.

At the end of next month, the France international’s Juventus contract is scheduled to expire, making him a free agent.

Rabiot, who has also been connected to Aston Villa, would provide United the “opportunity” to bolster their engine room without having to spend any of their transfer cash, according to the source.

It has also been stated that Newcastle are also showing an interest in signing the hugely experienced 29-year-old and are ready to go toe-to-toe with the Red Devils for his signature.

Rabiot scored five goals and added three assists in 35 games in all competitions for Juventus this season and is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder or as a No.8.

Man Utd also pursuing deal for Copenhagen sensation

United is still interested in acquiring FC Copenhagen forward Amin Chiakha as they want to strengthen their forward line.

According to Tipsbladet, Manchester City and United have both been keeping an eye on the striker in case they decide to make a move this summer.

Chiakha has excelled in the Copenhagen youth system but has not yet made an appearance in the first team. This season, the 18-year-old has scored 24 goals in 37 games for Copenhagen’s Under-19 team, including eight goals in nine UEFA Youth League contests.

The report claims that Juventus and Ajax have previously expressed an interest in signing Chiakha, while teams Germany and France are also keen.
