Man Utd willing to agree £68m asking fee, table tempting offer for signing – Report

Ronald Araujo, a Uruguayan international, is frequently linked to Manchester United, and the most recent media reports on the subject are intriguing.

We reported on a story from Sport last week that suggested United is willing to pay a high wage and make a significant financial commitment to recruit the South American, who Barcelona values at £68 million.

The defender is being courted by the Red Devils, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich, according to today’s edition of the Catalan media site (news image below).

But with the entrance of Hansi Flick as the new leader, things might change.

Araujo was recently criticised by Xavi and placed on the market in an effort to strengthen the club’s financial position.

Man Utd is prepared to “bid hard” and reach the £68 million asking price in order to capture Araujo, but Flick is hoping to work out a new deal with the player.

The 25-year-old star has had a renewal offer on the table for months, but he has been open to considering offers to leave Barcelona because of criticism.

Araujo is now recovering, but he will shortly be a member of Uruguay’s national squad for the forthcoming Copa America.

Time will tell if he takes Flick’s advice and decides to stay longer at the Nou Camp.

He is a well-known centre back with the skill and expertise to support any backline in the entire globe.

Man Utd need to replace the likes of Varane and Evans and signing Ronald Araujo without Champions League football would be a huge coup.

In your view, should United pay the £68m asking fee to lure the former Boston River CB?
