Manchester United could be about to sign Barcelona superstar, following bombshell Xavi comments: report

Manchester United is allegedly one of several teams keeping an eye on the circumstances surrounding a disgruntled Barcelona player in anticipation of a potential summer transfer.

Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s appointment in February, United have increased their recruitment efforts and placed a renewed emphasis on spotting young talent.

After his INEOS group purchased a 27.7% stake in the team, Ratcliffe assumed leadership of the football operations at Old Trafford. This summer, during what will be his first transfer window, significant changes are anticipated.

Barcelona forward Vitor Roque, who joined the team with great fanfare in January but has recently lost Xavi’s favor, has been linked to Manchester United.

A €40 million acquisition from Athletico Paranaense, the 19-year-old has not featured for Barça since their La Liga encounter with Cadiz on April 13. He appeared irritated while sitting on the sidelines during Saturday’s 4-2 loss to Girona.

Barcelona’s limited chances of winning La Liga were dashed with that defeat, as Real Madrid was declared the winner and, worse even, the Blaugrana fell to third place in the standings, behind Girona.

Roque’s wife Dayana Lins shared an Instagram story with three emojis, one with hands covering the face, another with a hand over the mouth, and a third with a finger to the lips in a silent gesture, as Roque was an unutilized substitute at Montilivi.

Vitor Roque will not be leaving in the summer, as Xavi had previously stated, but he has since refrained from discussing the Brazilian forward’s predicament.

According to the report, Barça may think about loaning the Brazilian to help the Catalan team balance its books this summer and adhere to Financial Fair Play requirements.
