Manchester United fans make feelings on Ten Hag clear in poll result

According to a new poll, the majority of Manchester United supporters want the team to retain Erik ten Hag as manager while the Dutchman awaits news regarding his future.

Despite leading the Old Trafford team to an FA Cup victory at Wembley on Saturday and securing a Europa League berth for the upcoming season, Ten Hag’s status seems to be in doubt.

Despite this, the former Ajax manager had a challenging Premier League season, leading Manchester United to an eighth-place result.

Before the cup final, there was more conjecture that the team might let Ten Hag go because of a report that said he would be fired no matter what happened.

However, a Manchester Evening News poll indicates that he continues to enjoy the backing of the team’s supporters, with 78% of 10,000 respondents saying they want him to stay.

When questioned following the 4-0 loss to Crystal Palace earlier this month, just 39% of respondents had desired Ten Hag to continue as manager into the last year of a three-year deal.

With support from Jason Wilcox, who was recently appointed technical director, and Sir Dave Brailsford, head of sport at Ineos, co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and co-chairman Joel Glazer are conducting an evaluation of the team’s season.

Representatives of United have already spoken to the camps of Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel, Kieran McKenna and Thomas Frank to prepare for the event that Ten Hag is sacked.
