Mason Greenwood’s latest controversy in Spain reinforces United’s plan to sell this summer

Mason Greenwood has once again suffered abuse in Spanish stadiums after the latest round of La Liga fixtures.

The 22 year old left Old Trafford on loan under a cloud last summer after the legal case against him was dropped last year.

After much indecision from Manchester United, they finally decided to loan the player out to keep him away from the first team after the fierce public backlashagainst Greenwood’s planned reintegration.

The Englishman has had an impressive loan spell at Getafe, where he is a first choice winger and has played 30 times for the side from the Spanish capital this season.

He was in great form again yesterday as he was the joint-highest rated player on the pitch according to Sofascore, and provided a sublime assist in Getafe’s 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad.

However, despite the fact the Spanish reaction to the controversial winger has been muted in comparison to what he could expect in England, this does mean that he has been welcomed with open arms.
