“Onto bigger things!”: United’s newest player confirms his Old Trafford move on social media

On Wednesday, Manchester United defeated Newcastle 3-2 to get back on track. The victory over the Magpies has, for the time being at least, maintained Man United’s chances of making it to Europe the following season.

Long-term prospects were brightened by the Red Devils’ youthful players’ display at Old Trafford, giving the club’s management hope that they have found success with United’s elite players. Against Newcastle, all three of the goal scorers were under 21 years old.

INEOS is aware that due to Premier League PSR worries, United’s transfer budget will be drastically reduced this summer, regardless of whether the team makes it to the Europa League.

But this might compel the club’s leadership to take a long-term view and concentrate on fortifying United by bringing in fresh talent, whether for the first team or academy.

United signed a promising player ahead of the summer transfer window, suggesting that the hunt for such individuals is already well under way.

Dante Plunkett has officially joined United following his fruitful trial period.

He announced his move to United by posting a photo of himself with a club shirt on Instagram. The caption of his post read: “Onto bigger things!”

The Englishman was a left-back for Aston Villa’s youth teams in the past.

After making an appearance for their Under-18 team, he has already made his debut for the Manchester giants. Plunkett’s next goal is to sign a professional deal with the team.

Even though he still has a ways to go before he’s ready for the starting lineup, United’s academy is full of gifted players who are eager to follow in the footsteps of Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

Similar to Plunkett, Harry Amass is a left-back who has had an amazing 2023–24 season.

He was one of United’s most impressive performers during their earlier-this-week victory over Chelsea. The team’s 2-1 victory enabled them to win the U18 Premier League National championship.

With Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia still on the sidelines, it would not surprise many if Amass features in some capacity against Brighton and Hove Albion this weekend.
