‘Onto bigger things’… Wonderkid confirms he has signed for Manchester United, leaving Aston Villa

Manchester United’s best shot at recapturing former glories is investment into the club’s flourishing academy.

Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo have advanced to regular spots in the first team, and Ethan Wheatley is a member of Manchester United’s championship-winning under-18 squad that is determined to follow.

Manchester United wants to maintain the constant flow of talent through Carrington, so the team is keeping an eye out for possible jewels to add to its academy.

Now that he’s confirmed his switch to United by posing with the shirt, another young talent has basically made his move official.

Dante Plunkett signs for Manchester United

Dante Plunkett, who left Aston Villa’s academy, is the new name to join with Manchester United.

In February, Plunkett went on trial with Manchester United and was added to the substitute list for an under-18 match.

Then, with the league already won, he made his debut with the under-18s in the team’s last league match of the season.

Combined Plunkett was mentioned in Focus as one of the seven young players United is hoping to develop further in the upcoming campaign.

With a photo taken beneath the renowned Trinity statue of Denis Law, Sir Bobby Charlton, and George Best at Old Trafford, the teenager has now officially announced his move.
Leaving his Aston Villa stint behind him, he posted the caption on Instagram: “Onto bigger things!✝️ @manchesterunited“

His message was ‘liked’ by United academy players including Jack Kingdon and Bendito Mantato.

Dante Plunkett strengthens left-back ranks

Left-back Dante Plunkett expands Manchester United’s academy-level options at the position.

Harry Amass, just sixteen, was bought by United from Watford last summer. However, in recent weeks, he has been elevated to the first team bench.

Plunkett may be motivated by this to reach his potential, particularly at left-back, where United has struggled to find first-team options this season because of injuries to Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw.
