Paul Scholes says Man Utd ‘deserve better’ as he makes feelings clear on Erik ten Hag keeping job

Paul Scholes has given his thoughts on Erik ten Hag remaining manager of Manchester United.

On Tuesday it emerged that Ten Hag was set to stay as United manager upon the conclusion of the club’s end of season review.

Following a period of uncertainty, United held talks with the Dutchman and established that the preference of both parties was for the 54-year-old to continue his tenure.

Moreover, it has been widely reported that United are set to enter negotiations with Ten Hag about extending his contract. His current deal runs until next June, with the option to prolong by a further 12 months.

United are said to have sounded out potential replacements during the review process, with the likes of former-Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel, ex-Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Roberto De Zerbi and recently departed Chelseaboss Mauricio Pochettino all having been linked.
