Rashford dropped, new Garnacho role – Man United starting XI with £60m Michael Olise transfer

Manchester United will already be making plans for the summer transfer window, with multiple names being connected before the summer break.

Michael Olise, the winger for Crystal Palace, is a player whose name keeps coming up. According to some rumors, United is now leading the race to sign him. A vital member of the Eagles, the France U21 international rejected down a summer transfer to Chelsea.

However, he has had trouble this campaign with ailments. In spite of this, he has managed to contribute four assists and seven goals in 16 league games this season, and Palace has benefited from his presence on the field.

Erik ten Hag, or whoever is in charge come opening day of the season, will have more attacking alternatives if Olise does indeed arrive at Old Trafford in the summer. Immediately behind Rasmus Hojlund and to the right of the attacking trio, the France U21 international might enter the starting lineup.

The choice of who to move to the left is then left. Although Alejandro Garnacho has been playing well this season and Marcus Rashford has been starting frequently, Alejandro Garnacho may end up starting and Marcus Rashford being benched due to his troubles.

In behind the midfield three, both Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro will play more holding roles with the hopefully fit again Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez coming back into the back four at left-back and centre-back respectively.

Man United XI: Onana; Dalot, Martinez, Maguire, Shaw; Mainoo, Casemiro; Garnacho, Fernandes, Olise; Hojlund

Naturally, if Olise is the only player signing in the summer—which is unlikely—this is the lineup. Plans for the window are alleged to have been drafted by United as early as September.

It is believed that the team is concentrating on four important positions: attack, central midfield, right back, and center back. Under Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s ownership, a little shift in transfer strategy might also be made, with a greater focus on players who might have resale value—a classification that Olise might fit into.
