Report: £33m PL player’s agents have just contacted Manchester United about summer move

The representatives of one Premier League star have made contact with Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils are anticipated to be active when the window opens, but for now, their first priority is deciding whether Erik ten Hag or someone else will be their manager for the upcoming year.

After that is over, Manchester United’s attention will go to transfers, and thus far, one player’s agency has contacted them.

Amadou Onana’s agents have reached out to Manchester United

It is anticipated that Amadou Onana would be open to transfers this summer. For a reported £33 million, the Belgian moved from Lille to Everton in the summer of 2022 (BBC).

Several clubs have since expressed admiration for him after his outstanding debut season at Goodison Park. Onana, a 22-year-old midfield player, is reportedly attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, who have both been strongly linked to a desire to sign him.

Manchester United has now been included in the discussion.

According to GiveMeSport, Onana’s representatives have gotten in touch with Manchester United and Arsenal “to learn about their transfer plans” for this summer.

According to the report, Everton is willing to sell the Belgian. If it meant keeping hold of Jarrad Branthwaite and Jordan Pickford—the latter of whom has been strongly linked to a move to Manchester United—the Toffees would be happy to let him go.

Onana still has more than three years remaining on his Goodison Park deal. He played 37 games for Everton in all competitions last season.

Why Onana could be a game-changer for Manchester United

Manchester United need reinforcements in multiple areas of their pitch.

Given that Harry Maguire’s future is uncertain and Raphael Varane is leaving the team, the Red Devils will probably put more emphasis on defence.

Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw’s injury problems also call for the addition of a new left-back. But Manchester United also needs a new midfield player.

Following his loan period, Sofyan Amrabat is unlikely to return, and in the upcoming weeks, Casemiro might also be sold.

INEOS should have Onana on their want list as a defensive midfielder, as he would be a great fit for the Old Trafford team. He might truly be a game-changer.

The Belgian is absolutely rapid, extremely strong and good in the air. He can dominate the midfield on his own and the fact that he’s still only 22 means he will only get better in the coming years.

Under the right manager, Onana could become one of the best midfielders in the country and he could be the main man for United – not just next season but for the better part of the next decade.
