Report: Club could offer ‘the best player in Europe’ to Man Utd in exchange for player Ineos are keen to sell

Manchester United could be offered the chance to sign one of Europe’s best this summer in a Mason Greenwood swap deal.

Mason Greenwood, 22, is one of Manchester United’s most marketable assets this summer after having a stellar season with Getafe.

A transfer race has been intensifying since, despite his impressive year, it is not believed that the academy graduate will be able to return to Old Trafford.

It was announced earlier on Friday that Benfica had entered the race, which already included Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, and Atletico Madrid.

However, there is now more information regarding the Greenwood race.

Mason Greenwood says yes to Juventus as player swap is considered

Juventus is back in the spotlight, their interest among the hottest at the moment, as the interest in Mason Greenwood grows.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Greenwood has already expressed interest in joining the Turin team under new boss Thiago Motta.

Juventus is having trouble, though, as United’s asking of between £35 and £40 million is too much for them to afford this summer.

But as the story notes, there is a prospective player exchange that could address this.

Because they are unable to commit such large sums of money, Juventus is now considering making an offer for a player. Samuel Iling-Junior, an English U21 player, is one possibility and is referred to as the “hot name.”

According to the source, Federico Chiesa, who is expected to be sold this summer because he won’t sign a new deal, is another player to keep an eye on. United is reportedly the kind of team that could entice him.

Federico Chiesa would solve a problem for Manchester United

Chiesa is arguably on his day one of the most dangerous wingers in world football, and if he’s on the table, it’s something United should seriously consider as he has long been considered as having the qualities to be one of “the best players in Europe”.

Chiesa’s representative is scheduled to meet with Roma, and conversations over his future are already underway, according to La Stampa in Italy.
Napoli, Aston Villa, Newcastle, and Bayern Munich are among the teams interested in signing Chiesa for a minimum of £34 million.
Given that this amount is comparable to what Greenwood is expected to fetch, this may be a move that works for all parties and might result in United finally acquiring a player who has been linked since 2019.
Though naturally leaning left, Chiesa is also a fantastic right-winger. Alejandro Garnacho, however, is just as effective on the right as he is on the left, so the manager has options when it comes to the forward positions. He is coming off a season of nine goals and three assists in 33 Serie A games which shows that he is a top player as he was being used less regularly than expected. Three years after reports suggested Cristiano Ronaldo had requested United sign the 26-year-old.

Who is Samuel Iling-Junior?

Many fans will be curious to know who Iling-Junior is as they hear that he may have been engaged in the Greenwood trade.

Does he have the ability to help United? Iling-Junior, an England U21 player, is regarded by the official Juventus website as “one of the most promising young footballers of his generation,” which is quite a claim.

The 20-year-old played in 24 Serie A games for Juventus past season, contributing twice to the team’s score. As a left-wing winger, he isn’t precisely what United needs, and Alejandro Garancho and Marcus Rashford are certain to be ahead of him in the starting lineup.

Iling-Junior came through the Chelsea academy before being sold to Juventus for over £1m in 2020. His England youth career has him scoring twice in five U21 caps.

An exciting player, with Spurs also having shown an interest, but probably not what United need this summer.
