Report: Jadon Sancho drops hint over Manchester United future

According to reports, Jadon Sancho has bought a £3.8 million property in Greater Manchester. The striker is reportedly getting ready to return to Manchester United for the upcoming campaign.

The 24-year-old, who was once again on loan at Borussia Dortmund, is getting ready to play for the German team against Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

However, Sancho’s loan agreement with Dortmund expires this summer, and as things stand, he will return to the 20-time English champions for the 2024–25 season.

The Englishman is eager to return to BVB permanently, but Man United is reportedly asking for as much as £50 million, which would put the Bundesliga team out of the picture.

According to The sun, Sancho has purchased a five-bed mansion near the home of Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag, with the forward seemingly dropping a hint over his future.

Sancho ‘hints at Man United return this summer’

This season, Sancho and Ten Hag had a well-publicized falling out that resulted in the attacker’s exclusion from the Old Trafford first team lineup.

Before being completely benched against Arsenal at the beginning of September, the former Manchester City player appeared as a substitute in Man United’s first three Premier League games of the 2023–24 season.

Ten Hag said that Sancho had been cut from the squad due to subpar performances on the training pitch, but the Englishman vehemently denied this, practically calling his boss a liar.

Sancho reportedly refused to apologise, which prevented their relationship from being fixed and resulted in his loan return to Dortmund in the January transfer window.

How will the situation play out this summer?

Sancho is under contract with Man United until June 2026, so they have a lot of leverage over his future, and this summer’s cut-price departure is unlikely.

Since his return, Sancho has made 20 appearances for BVB and has managed three goals and three assists. He stood out against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semifinals.

Despite making 82 appearances in all competitions, the attacker has only managed to contribute 12 goals and 6 assists throughout his time at Manchester United.

Although it is unlikely that Sancho would play under Ten Hag once more, a comeback is conceivable if the Dutchman gets fired from Old Trafford this summer—which is a real possibility.

The outcome will also depend on Dortmund’s willingness to meet Man United’s asking price, so there remains huge uncertainty surrounding Sancho’s future heading towards the summer market.
