Report – Man Utd in talks to sign bench warmer, he has £428million clause

According to sources, Manchester United is in talks to buy Vitor Roque from Barcelona in order to bolster their strike force come summertime.

According to a report that was released by Mundo Deportivo today, should they forget to register the Brazilian forward, the Spanish powerhouses might have to let him go during the ensuing transfer window.

According to a well-known Catalan news source, Manchester United has spoken with the striker’s representatives to inquire about his circumstances at Nou Camp.

Roque was signed by Barcelona last year for a sum of £52.2 million from Athletico Paranaense, and a massive £428 million release clause was included in the contract (The Athletic).

But under the guidance of club veteran Xavi, the South American has primarily served as a bench warmer in the current campaign.

In the Spanish league thus far, he has only started two games and scored twice as many goals.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Roque would contemplate going out on loan if he couldn’t find a spot in the team, but he wants to stay.

With a forward of Robert Lewandowski’s caliber, it is improbable that things would get any better for the 19-year-old.

Man United has reached out to sign Roque in such a case, but they are not the only team vying for his signature. Even teams like Sevilla, Betis, Napoli, and Nice are considering using his services.

The twenty-time English champions need to find a substitute for Anthony Martial, whose Old Trafford contract is set to expire next month.

Do you think Manchester United should make an attempt to sign Vitor Roque?
