Report – Man Utd make contact to offer below £51million for signing

Goncalo Inacio is a player that Man Utd is interested in getting, and there are rumors that the Red Devils are trying harder to get him.

Man Utd and Liverpool have reportedly “stepped up” their efforts to entice the Portuguese international away from Sporting CP, according to FT.

The present contract Inacio has with the Lions has a £51 million release clause.

Man Utd reportedly reached out to inquire about making a bid for the central defender that is less than £51 million.

For the upcoming campaign, the 20-time English champions need to strengthen their defense and hope to lure Branthwaite from Everton.

One of the top defenders in the Portuguese league, Inacio triumphed in his second Liga Nos title last night following Benfica’s defeat against Famalicao.

Under Ruben Amorim’s direction, the 22-year-old has so far appeared in 30 league games this season and has assisted Sporting in keeping 14 clean sheets.

He has already played six times for the senior national team, and the Seleccao team will probably include him in the lineup for the European Championships.

After winning several titles in Portugal, Inacio ought to consider moving to a higher league, and a move to Manchester United would be a significant step forward for his career.

The only downside of moving to Old Trafford would be lack of Champions League football. He can play in the CL if he opts to stay with Sporting.

Have your say – Is Goncalo Inacio good enough to improve the Man Utd defense?
