Report: Man Utd now want 50 y/o manager who plays “incredible” football to replace Ten Hag

It’s possible that Manchester United will look to replace their manager in the summer, and The Telegraph reports that Thomas Frank, the manager of Brentford, is now a serious candidate to take over at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils’ season has been disappointing as they are not able to make it into the Champions League and might finish the season without winning a trophy. Ten Hag won the Carabao Cup and led United to a top-four finish the previous season, but they haven’t advanced this time.

With INEOS arriving earlier in the year, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team might be looking to start a fresh and bring in a new coach. Ten Hag can have no complaints considering the campaign the Manchester outfit have had.

Frank Now a Strong Contender for Man Utd Job

He’s endured a difficult season with the Bees

According to The Telegraph, Frank, the manager of Brentford, is a “strong contender” to succeed ten Hag in the summer. He has a relationship with INEOS, and his work with the Bees is claimed to have impressed many at Old Trafford. The Manchester team hasn’t decided on ten Hag yet, but Frank might be near the top of their short list if they do decide to move forward.

The 50-year-old has performed admirably with Brentford and, in the words of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, plays “incredible” football. Under his leadership, despite their struggles this season, they have established themselves as a Premier League team. Frank has struggled with injuries and has spent a significant amount of the season without his main striker, Ivan Toney.

After taking over as manager in the Championship, Frank led Brentford to two different play-off appearances; the second resulted in promotion to the Premier League. The Bees have frequently overachieved since then, placing ninth and then 13th before to the start of current season.

Gareth Southgate Linked With Man Utd

INEOS have a strong relationship with the England manager

Gareth Southgate, the manager of England, is reportedly one of Manchester United’s top targets to replace ten Hag in the summer. Although there isn’t a consensus between the two sides, the negotiations are reportedly doing well, and a speedy resolution is anticipated.

The former Middlesbrough boss does seem to be a possibility for United, but he will definitely be concentrating on the forthcoming European Championship competition. Even though INEOS hasn’t decided whether to buy ten Hag, they will want to have a strategy in place in case they do.
