Sir Alex Ferguson spotted with Premier League club’s transfer guru as Man Utd target a number of his players

Manchester United could raid a number of Premier League clubs this summer as Ineos look to recruit major additions at Old Trafford.

More than a week has passed since the victory in the FA Cup final, and thoughts are already shifting to the summer.

While Euro 2024 will undoubtedly take centre stage, Manchester United has a lot of work ahead of them this summer, both in the locker room and with their playing group.

Erik ten Hag has had a bad season, but he did finish the year with an FA Cup in his possession, so Ineos will need to decide what to do with him moving forward.

United, which dropped from third place in Ten Hag’s debut season to eighth this past season, will also require a lot of additions this summer.

Targets from abroad are bound to be on the radar but United may also place a keen focus on Premier League talents.

Ineos are thought to be focusing on homegrown signings such as Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Premier League clubs will be on alert with United looking for signings.

Sir Alex Ferguson spotted with Dougie Freedman

While Crystal Palace is undoubtedly among those teams, they have already succeeded in holding onto one United target.

Dougie Freedman, the sporting director of Crystal Palace, was a target for Ineos, and there were rumours in March that an offer was on the way.

At Selhurst Park, Freedman has produced some outstanding work, and rumours have it that Sir Alex Ferguson was supporting a move for the fellow Scot.

In the end, Palace were able to persuade Freedman to sign a new contract, putting an end to any possible transfer to Old Trafford.

Although Freedman is already making waves in the trade market, this past weekend he was sighted with Ferguson.

The Daily Mail note that Ferguson and Freedman both attended a private members club in Mayfair.

Freedman and Ferguson have been close for years now with Sir Alex somewhat mentoring his compatriot in recent years.

Ferguson passing Freedman so strong certainly makes sense with that background and the pair clearly remain close despite no United move materialising.

Manchester United want Crystal Palace stars

This summer, United might still give Freedman a call, but not to entice him to move to Old Trafford.

It appears that Ineos is keen to sign a few Palace players this summer, and Freedman’s signing has received positive press. Marc Guehi, a centre back for Palace, is reportedly one of United’s top summer targets.

At Old Trafford, at least one centre defender will undoubtedly be required, and Guehi, a native prospect with genuine Premier League consistency behind him, fits the description.

Additionally, it’s said that United is “confident” about signing Palace winger Michael Olise.

The wide player, who is reportedly a lifelong Manchester United supporter, would undoubtedly seize the opportunity to relocate to Manchester.

United is reportedly interested in playmaker Eberechi Eze, according to reports this past weekend.

Although Ferguson and Freedman’s meeting this weekend was most likely just two friends catching up, some United supporters might be hoping that positive word was shared about possible deals this summer.
