Why Man Utd are ready to slash their valuation of Marcus Rashford & sell England attacker – explained

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Premier League side hope to sell the 26-year-old in the summer transfer window amid claims of a breakdown in his relationship with manager Erik ten Hag. The Red Devils were initially said to be asking for around £80 million ($102m) for him, but The Sun now claims they would be willing to accept £60m ($76m) to get rid of him.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Rashford came through the United youth academy and has gone on to make more than 400 appearances in all competitions for the senior team. However, his importance to the Old Trafford club has waned recently as he faced criticism for his performances last season as well as his off-field behaviour, having missed his team’s FA Cup clash against Newport due to late-night partying in Belfast.

DID YOU KNOW?

United’s decision to keep Ten Hag on as manager has reportedly sealed Rashford’s fate at the club as the report says the club are eager to sell. Paris Saint-Germain are said to be interested in signing the attacker this summer after they saw Kylian Mbappe leave for Real Madrid on a free transfer.
