Liverpool defender Joe Gomez believes Manchester United players will be under pressure to act as the protagonists in Sunday’s meeting at Old Trafford.
The Reds make the short journey over from Merseyside this weekend looking to maintain their pace in the Premier League title race.
Erik ten Hag’s men head into this encounter off the back of a hugely disappointing 4-3 defeat at Chelsea in which they had led 3-2 heading into stoppage time.
Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, Gomez insisted the onus will be on United to come out and attack their visitors.
“I mean, they’re at home. I don’t think the atmosphere [and fans] would appreciate them playing a low block and sitting off so I’m sure they will be up for it and will come out at us, and it’s up to us to deal with that atmosphere and go for them,” Gomez said.
