£40million star confirms ‘discussion’ over joining Manchester United

Jean-Clair Todibo has been linked to Manchester United for a while, and the midfielder has acknowledged that he has had discussions about moving to Old Trafford.

The French international is desired by the Red Devils, according to The Mail last week, and Nice believes he is worth almost £40 million.

During his first week of play, Todibo had a one-week trial at Manchester United. Additionally, he has five senior game experience with Barcelona, the Spanish powerhouse.

The 24-year-old centre back said that he had talks with the 20-time English champions and did not rule out a transfer to a premier team.

When asked about United, he commented (via The Daily Telegraph):

“Honestly, I don’t want to talk about it [his future] because of my respect for the fans here and the club also. But we had a little discussion, for sure.”

With just 29 goals allowed, Nice had the greatest defensive record in the just finished Ligue 1 season, and Todibo was a standout player at the back for them.

For Le Gym, he made thirty league appearances and contributed to no fewer than fifteen clean sheets. Nevertheless, Deschamps did not include Todibo in his team for the European Championships because of France’s exceptional quality and depth in the centre defence.

Since United had fatigue and injuries at the back end of the 2023–24 season, his absence from the Euros would allow him to recover well for the upcoming campaign.

Do you think Manchester United should spend £40 million to buy Jean-Clair Todibo?
