Roy Keane sent an ominous warning to Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag during a cringeworthy exchange following their 1-0 win over Fulham.
After United narrowly beat Fulham in their Premier League opener on Friday, manager Ten Hag spoke to Keane and his fellow Sky Sports pundits. What followed was a fairly awkward exchange, which ended in the ever-critical former Red Devils player sending a warning of sorts to the ex-Ajax boss.
The Irishman, who heavily criticised the club last season amid their worst-ever Premier League campaign, said: “Not tonight, next week, next week,” to which Ten Hag said: “I know, thank you.”
Keane finished by warning: “I’ll be waiting…Just keep winning, it’s easy, it’ll be no problem,” before the Dutchman quipped: “It’s so simple.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
After a disastrous last season, where United secured their lowest-ever Premier League finish of eighth, it was vital Ten Hag’s team got off to a positive start in 2024-25. Bigger tests lie ahead but the Red Devils will be delighted to have got the three points to kickstart their campaign.
